@t3rr0rz0n3 The FIRST that headline is misleading for a start, as if the fediverse didn't exist.

@t3rr0rz0n3 Is this the part where we laugh our asses off?

@t3rr0rz0n3 馃樄 it will be so decentralized they can still close your account for posting wrongthink

@t3rr0rz0n3 passa鈥檓 l鈥檈nlla莽 porfa: vull llegir com reinventen la roda鈥

@titi ostres.. 鈥滺owever, Bluesky will be an open聽platform聽similar to email, allowing users with various email addresses to contact each other even though they use different email servers" com siguin capa莽os de explicar el funcionament del fediverse en una app privativa anem fotuts...

#Fediverse 鉂わ笍

@titi @t3rr0rz0n3 Ni algoritme ni osties, tu et tens que buscar el contingut. Sin manipulaci贸.

@titi @t3rr0rz0n3 A mes no han usat ni ActivityPub ni res, 茅s una merda com una catedral.

IRC over here literally existing since the 80s
@t3rr0rz0n3 Must be hard to stay in the news without Trump ... but hey, reinvent the wheel Twitter.

@t3rr0rz0n3 My guess is by 鈥渄ecentralized鈥 they mean 鈥渢otally centralized, but with an illusion of slightly greater user control. But we鈥檒l still manipulate everything.鈥

No way it鈥檒l fit any definition of decentralized.

Easily being truly decentralized but being also the main instance and calling the shots on what moderation looks like, and where the protocol is going.

Also note current data privacy policy on fediverse is appaling. If people have to provide ID (phone number for example) to sign up that's data privacy dystopia already.

@t3rr0rz0n3 Bluesky matar脿 el fedivers?
"Context matters
There have been previous attempts to build such social media protocols, notably Mastodon, but none have ever seen significant mainstream adoption. Twitter, in contrast, has more than 300 million monthly active users."

@spla @t3rr0rz0n3 Com era all貌 dels Joc dels trons? HOOOOLD THE DOOORRR hehe

@spla De can GAB van desembarcar moltes鈥 per貌 no deurien ser milions鈥 I en fi, es van cansar i van marxar ;)

@t3rr0rz0n3 First?

Will they rename it MastoBird??

Will they call the protocol TwitterPub???

@t3rr0rz0n3 Yeah B*tch, Masto was there before it was cool! :apartyblobcat: :apartyblobcat: :ablobcatrave: 馃槑 :apartyblobcat: :ablobcatrave: :apartyblobcat:

@t3rr0rz0n3 the will probably be the first company that uses TCP/IP

@t3rr0rz0n3 also, twitter will *never ever* give up control of what surfaces, because manipulating that is the only value they provide to their real customers.

@t3rr0rz0n3 Why would they have an interest in doing that? Advertisers absolutely do not like that kind of system. Considering that they are barely profitable as it is, I can't see them seriously entertaining that idea.

@TouchBalls69 @t3rr0rz0n3

Companies like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Reddit get their infinite supply of investor money not because of their direct ability to generate profit but their ability to datamine an absurd amount of people and achieve political goals.

The reason twitter is creating its own "decentralized system" is because they immediately lost access to a large amount of users recently and people keep talking about decentralization as a solution to corporate censorship.

The goal is to convince as many stupid e-celebs as possible to go to their "decentralized" alternative and keep datamining the people trying to escape Twitter and have the "resistant to censorship" aspect of it fucked with somewhere when it is very valuable to do so. Kinda like Discord did with IRC.

Jack Dorsey also probably wants to start quipping about "responsible decentralized technologies" as well. He will let things run wild fror a while and volect examples of "problematic behavior" in "decentralized" social media and help set up regulations that imposes great burdens in hosting ActivityPub tech.

Fucking entrepreneur magazines. They don't know shit; they're little more than glorified advertisements for investors.
